Arriving at the Office
Where are you located?
Our office is at 120 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver, BC. We serve clients across British Columbia, so you do not need to be local to work with us.
Where can I park?
Parking is available on the street in the area, along Esplanade, up Chesterfield, and along 1st and 2nd Avenues. There is also pay parking available under the Lonsdale Quay Market, under the IGA market/Shoppers Drug Mart, and under the Pinnacle Hotel.
Do you have bike storage or a spot to park my bike?
There is a bike storage outside our building, and there are also covered bike lockers near the entrance to the Seabus station.
Working With Us
When do I need a lawyer?
It depends on your situation, but common triggers are buying or selling a home, starting or growing a business, or writing or updating your will. If you are not sure whether your situation needs a lawyer, reach out and we can point you in the right direction.
What is the difference between a lawyer and notary public?
A notary public can handle straightforward matters, such as some real estate transfers and simple wills, but cannot give legal advice, draft complex agreements, or represent you in a dispute. A lawyer can do all of that. If your matter is more than a simple document signing, a lawyer is usually the safer choice.
How quickly can you get my work done?
We complete work at the pace you need. There are times when we cannot do a same day or 1-2 day turnaround, but we do try our best to do so.
Settling Up With Us
How do you charge?
We charge most projects on a flat rate pre-quoted basis, either as stated in our workbooks or from one of our lawyers. Our philosophy is to be transparent, and avoid the bill-and-duck game that most lawyers play. We do not charge hourly unless agreed to between you and us.
Do you offer discounts?
We offer promotional discounts from time to time as shared on Facebook and Instagram. For our young families, we have an ongoing discount for estate planning.
How can I pay my bill?
We accept payment by e-transfer to money@papercliplaw.com, and in some cases, by Mastercard or Visa. Full payment instructions, including e-transfer details, are provided on your invoice. In some transactions, our invoices are paid directly from the proceeds of the transaction and the remaining net amount direct deposited to your bank account directly.
